Cerebrolysin

Historical Background

Cerebrolysin is a peptide-based neuroprotective agent derived from purified porcine brain proteins. Developed in Austria and widely used in Eastern European and Asian clinical research, it contains a mixture of low molecular weight peptides (including fragments of BDNF, NGF, CNTF, and GDNF) and free amino acids. It has been studied for over 50 years in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury, Alzheimer's disease, and vascular dementia. Unlike single-peptide compounds, Cerebrolysin's complexity may enable multi-pathway neuroprotection.

Administration
